Eco Printing Workshop with Artist – Christine Thomas
Join Christine Thomas for an Eco printing workshop at The Old Lock Up Gallery.
The workshop will include:
Artist’s Intro and discussion: An introduction to what can be achieved with the
techniques you will be using during the workshop, the artist will bring along some of her projects.
Materials We will look at materials and discuss how to prepare and use them.
Walk and Forage we will go for a gentle walk around Cromford to Forage for leaves and interesting plants that we will then use to print onto a variety of fabrics and papers. Using ancient techniques we will produce bundles of foliage wrapped in silks, cottons and papers to make a unique contact print. You will be encourage to experiment and explore to see what textures and patterns can be produced from different plant life. During lunch, out bundles of joy will be cooked before we unravel to reveal the results of a day that has been connected to nature whilst relaxing in a friendly atmosphere.

Creative Painting Workshop with Artist – Rachael Pinks

Join Rachael Pinks for a creative workshop at The Old Lock Up Gallery.
Rachael is an Artist, Curator and Creative Expressive Therapist/Arts Facilitator. She studied Arts Therapies at The University of Derby and has been painting/creating work for almost 20 years. Rachael’s own work involves abstraction and the intuitive process.
The workshop is designed for all – from the absolute beginner wishing to explore their own creativity through to established artists wanting to escape the limitations of their own studios and practice. A day of creative exploration where participants will be encouraged, within the enabling space of The Old Lock Up Gallery, to try out various techniques and methods which facilitate risk taking, the intuitive process, spontaneity and self-expression. Participants may also gain a wider understanding of the importance of failure and mistake making within the creative process.
